Model casting for SFW typically takes place in early September where both alumni and new models can audition for various opportunities including photo shoots, runway and presentations. No experience is required. We proudly encourage individuals of all genders, sizes backgrounds and abilities to participate, reflecting our ongoing commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

 
 
 

FAQ’S

  • No, not at all! We welcome anyone who has the courage and motivation to come out and audition.

  • Typically anyone under 18 will have to provide a letter of permission form parents / guardians to participate. However, it is up to our group of designers to select models that fit their brand best. Children are only encouraged to audition if we have a children’s designer participating.

  • During your audition the founder of SFW along with one or two others will observe your walk to see if you are runway ready. Designers select the models they like for their own show but ultimately models will need to be approved by the SFW founder.

  • Models will have their headshot taken for internal organizational purposes. When you are called to audition you will present your walk. If any designers would like to do a fitting with you they will pull you aside immediately to do so. Once you complete your walk and any fittings you are free to go.

  • We encourage models to wear all black. Form-fitting attire is best. We also recommend that you wear shoes that you are able to walk in - please don’t wear shoes that will be a hazard to your safety!

  • A comp card is typically a headshot, bio and measurements that a model will bring to auditions. Theyy are not required however if you would like to provide them to any designers who pull you to do a fitting they would likely appreciate that!

  • After the casting it takes about a week to determine the runway selections. Designers should be in touch after a week to notify any models they have selected for the show. After these selections are made Designers will then select models to participate as presentation models at the Media Launch as well as models to participate in photo shoots so the selecction proccess is ongoing.

  • Yes, our internal team will provide models access to photos based on the understanding that models will have to provide all necessary credits.

  • Well to start you ate about to have an amazing experience! You will build networks (and friendships) within the industry. You will get complimentary access to our Opening Party and you will have access to professional images. You will also have a lot of fun participating!
